1 cup self-rising flour1 cup self-rising cornmeal½ teaspoon garlic salt½ teaspoon ground black pepper1 (15 ounce) can cream-style corn½ pound crabmeat1 onion, diced2 eggs, beaten1 quart vegetable oil, or as needed
Directions

Mix self-rising flour, cornmeal, garlic salt, pepper, corn, crabmeat, onion, and eggs together in a bowl; let sit for 10 minutes.Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).Drop 6 to 8 tablespoon-sized balls of batter into the hot oil; fry until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove hush puppies with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining batter.
